USEFUL INFORMATION

To make your stay easy and comfortable,  without clashing with unknown customs and traditions, it is better to know that :

• Greece is part of  European Union and since 1 January 2002 has adopted the Euro as its currency. You can take out money from the numerous cash-machines or pay by credit card.
• The rooms, either in the hotels or apartments are usually made up of two single beds, it is difficult to find double beds in Greece.
• The ‘extra’ beds are usually found in the living area and are nearly always folding beds.
• In the kitchens and cooking areas you will find electric hotplates with mostly 2 burners/rings.
• In the bathrooms  shower-curtains are rare, you will hardly ever find a shower-rail and you will also have to use the shower-head by hand.
• The waste-system does not have as much pressure as in other countries, therefore you cannot put toilet-paper or similar in the toilet but you have to put it in the waste-paper bin that you will find in every bathroom.
• Thanks to the constant presence of the sun all year round, the water is nearly always heated by solar-panels but early in the morning and evening it is possible that there will not always be hot water.
• Dogs and other animals, even small ones, are not usually allowed in the hotels, apartments and villas. We advise you to ask about this at the moment of booking. In any case you should know that it is prohibited to bring animals to the beaches of Zakynthos and Cephalonia because they could dig up the rare marine turtle’s nests “Caretta-Caretta” who during the summer, arrive in large numbers to deposit their eggs.
• The time-difference in Greece is + 2 hours ( GMT )
• A valid passport is known and accepted in all European Union countries.
• The official language is Greek but English is spoken everywhere.
• Our staff on both Cephalonia and Zakynthos / Zante is speaking perfectly ENGLISH, GERMAN, DUTCH and ITALIAN and will be at you complete disposal for any kind of help and assistance
• Transfers to / from port or airport can be organised on request
